Abstract:	This research aimed to understand aspects related to life history (teacher identity), praxis, and professional competencies developed by Science Education teachers (Natural Sciences and Mathematics) who are currently working or have retired after teaching in Resource Rooms for Students with Visual Impairments. The goal was to identify elements that could be incorporated into the training of new teachers, contributing to school inclusion and the enhancement of Science Education for students with visual impairments. To ensure academic accessibility, all images and visual elements were accompanied by detailed descriptions, designed for interpretation by both screen readers and human readers. The study initially addressed the functioning of vision and the foundations for understanding visual impairment and its pedagogical implications. It also analyzed the evolution of social perception regarding individuals with disabilities, highlighting their historical struggle for rights. Vygotsky's Cultural-Historical Theory was explored with an emphasis on overcoming sociocultural barriers and supporting educational inclusion. Additionally, we investigated the formation of the concept of competencies and teacher identity, examining the meaning of being a teacher and the challenges faced in inclusive contexts. The research adopted a qualitative approach, utilizing Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) as a method for data interpretation. Furthermore, Artificial Intelligence was incorporated as a support tool for compiling information, transcribing interviews, and creating the visual identity of the work. Reflection Groups, individual interviews, and questionnaires were used as research techniques, involving Natural Sciences and Mathematics teachers and three groups of course participants in Braille, Soroban, and Functional Vision Analysis. These spaces allowed for the exchange of experiences, reflections on pedagogical practices, competencies, and teacher identity, as well as suggestions to improve the continuing education of teachers. Thus, the research established connections between competencies, praxis, and teacher identity, providing support for the improvement of courses aimed at training teachers interested in working in Resource Rooms for Students with Visual Impairments, especially in Inclusive Science Education.
