Abstract:	INTRODUCTION: Family-centered care (FCC) is one of the approaches in early intervention (EI) where healthcare professionals collaborate with families to support child development. However, understanding the perceptions of both families and professionals regarding EI services is crucial. OBJECTIVES: Study 1) To describe a methodological protocol to identify evidence on family perception of EI with a focus on the FCC approach. Study 2) To identify the perception of families and healthcare professionals on EI. METHODS: Study 1) Scoping review methodology, including studies based on the strategy: Population (P): children aged 0 to 4 years, both genders, at risk of neuropsychomotor development delay; Concept (C): studies on EI and FCC, including family perception outcome; Context (C): any country or setting, published in English, Portuguese, or Spanish. Study 2) Cross-sectional, approved by the Ethics Committee of the University of Brasilia (protocol nº: 5.803.086). Participants included families of children (3 months to 4 years) and healthcare professionals in EI programs in Brazil (minimum 3 months), responding to online questionnaires. The family questionnaire addressed child characteristics, service perception, and guidance on home-based activities. The professional questionnaire addressed education, family involvement in EI, and services provided. RESULTS: Study 1) The scoping review will aim to identify evidence on family perceptions of EI and FCC. Study 2) Sixteen responses were valid for the family questionnaire, with the majority being mothers (75%). Families indicated the opportunity to express needs regarding child development (81.2%), participate in goal setting (81.2%), and satisfaction with the service (87.5%). The majority received guidance on homebased activities (81.2%) and implemented them (75%), with empathy and support from professionals (81.5%). In the healthcare professionals' questionnaire, 27 participated (female: 92.5%), primarily physical therapists (66.7%). Most are specialized (62.9%), with over six years of experience (55.5%). They reported discussing therapeutic goals with the family (92.6%) and considering their needs (70.4%). Professionals reported varied involvement in sessions and home activities. Additionally, they reported favorable working conditions (81.5%) and positive feedback from families (33.3%). CONCLUSION: Study 2) Families demonstrated active involvement in the child's developmental process, while professionals demonstrated a commitment to facilitating this process. From the professionals' perspective, the majority considered the families' needs in EI and was satisfied with the working environment. However, they reported that not all families seem to be engaged in this process.
