Abstract:	The research presents studies related to agroforestry cultivation, the quality of essential oil and the search for the identification of bacterial disease in Pelargonium graveolens, a species known as geranium, an aromatic medicinal plant originating in South Africa. The study brings the theoretical framework, where are information was collected on the state of the art of research, covering topics such as organic agriculture, economic and social aspects, essential oils and the botanical, phytochemical and pharmacological characterization of Pelargonium graveolens. Furthermore, it comprises the evaluation of the development of agronomic characteristics of geranium, such as plant height, crown diameter, number of leaves, fresh and dry mass, in an agroforestry system. The results indicated that the first harvest presented better indexes for most of the characteristics evaluated, compared to the second harvest. The cultivation of geranium in the Federal District in an agroforestry system proved to be favorable due to the soil and climate conditions. The quality of agroforestry geranium essential oil was evaluated based on the presence and concentration of major compounds, such as citronelloids and linalool in comparison with the ISO 4731 standard. In the first harvest, the main compounds were geraniol, linalool and citronellol. In the second harvest, there was a decrease in geraniol, but an increase in citronellol and linalool. Regarding the identification of phytopathogens in geranium, the study sought to identify the microorganism that severely attacked Pelargonium graveolens cultivated in the Federal District, although the inoculation methods did not reproduce the symptoms observed in the field, it was possible to observe that the characteristics presented by the inoculated bacteria reproduced characteristics of a phytopathogenic bacterium through the hypersensitivity test on tobacco and tomatoes, demonstrating great potential for in-depth studies to prove the difference between inoculum and severe attack presented in the field.
