dc.description.abstract1Gillo Dorfles is one of the main authorities on modern international architecture. In his writings he pointed to the architecture of Niemeyer and Aalto as virtuous manifestations of balance between form and function. The reception of Dorfles’s philosophy aligned with the trend promoting a type of architecture that was different from the functionalist model of De Stijl and Bauhaus. Between the 1950s and 1960s his position on Brazilian art was attentive to the changes in modern architecture.-
