| Abstract: | Introduction: Currently, occupational therapists are required to understand the organization of hospital care models, both in terms of physical and material aspects, as well as evaluations and measurements of results in order to propose improvements in the management process. The use of quality indicators in hospital care presents itself as an element of daily work, as it allows the identification of weaknesses and points to be improved in care. Objectives: This research proposes the elaboration of a model of quality indicators for the evaluation of the occupational therapy service in the hospital context. Method: This is exploratory research with a qualitative approach to data. The study was divided into 2 stages, with stage 1 consisting of the analysis of the literature narrative, for theoretical foundation. Step 2 consists of preparing a spreadsheet using quality indicators for the occupational therapy service in the hospital context. Results: Through this study, there was a deepening of the scientific literature on the use of care indicators by OT and hospital management, through the inclusion criteria, 7 articles were obtained, being separated by 4 categories: structuring an OT service in the hospital context, use of quality indicators, prescription of assistive technology in the hospital context and, finally, indicators for hospital discharge. In step 2, it was possible to build a spreadsheet using 5 care indicators, and the respective technical sheets, namely: number of visits by occupational therapy, patient's level of functionality, length of stay of the patient with occupational therapy, rate of admission for occupational therapy and safe hospital discharge guidance. Discussion: It is observed the limitation of scientific publications on the work of occupational therapy in the management in a hospital context, in addition to the fact that the way of evaluating the service is often presented in a subjective way and without systematization, with this it can be suggested greater discussion on the use of indicators for occupational therapy in the hospital context. Conclusion: The study enabled the development of 5 quality indicators for the occupational therapy service, namely: number of visits by occupational therapy, patient's level of functionality, length of stay of the patient with occupational therapy, admission rate for the therapy occupational health and safe hospital discharge guidance. |
