Abstract:	Food is directly related to the quality of life, morbidity, mortality, and it has a decisive influence on man's life. Children are tomorrow's future, and they need to grow up healthy, strong, and intellectually developed. Through appropriate menus, school Feeding Programs can help achieve this goal in different parts of the world. This study aims to identify the panorama of School Meals Programs in the world and how school menus are being evaluated. For this, a systematic review was carried out on school menu assessment instruments. The authors developed specific search strategies for Scopus, Web of Science, Science Direct, Pubmed, Lilacs, ProQuest Global and Google Scholar. An integrative review on the School Meals Program's panorama in the world through consultation with the countries' official websites, contact via e-mail, and a bibliographic survey was conducted. A total of 16 cross-sectional studies met the inclusion criteria for the systematic review and were analyzed. Brazil and Spain were the countries that presented the largest number of studies (n = 5; 31.25% for each). Most studies have a qualitative approach (n = 12.75%), and only 25% (n = 4) of the studies present quantitative assessment methods for evaluating school menus. No school menu assessment tool was found to assess all aspects of menu planning. Of the 192 countries included in the integrative review, eight countries (4.16%) do not have School Feeding Programs (PAE). For 67 countries (34.89%), information about the existence of programs was not found. It is impossible to state that they do not have a program. One hundred seventeen countries (60.93%) have a PAE. Of the 117 with PAE´s, in 100% of them, nutritional aspects were found in the characteristics of the PAEs, in 11.96% cultural aspects, in 16.23% aspects of food security, and 23.93% participation of the agribusiness. The results point to the lack of methods or instruments for evaluating the menus offered for school meals in the world that can contribute to better food care offered to students. School Feeding Programs worldwide guarantee nutritional criteria and cultural criteria, food safety, and agribusiness presence need to be incorporated into programs to adapt to FAO and WHO's recommendations. The menus' evaluation in the different School Meals Programs worldwide does not present a specific pattern. Still, it needs more studies that contemplate the lack of menu planning instruments and guidelines that include more characteristics than nutritional ones
