Abstract: More and more becomes questionable the role of agents commercialized as " Adhesive ", Tho- se materiais are thrown in the civil construction industry, usually without the due knowledge of the Chemical and mechanical properties of its composition, of the bonded joint. It is not said which tests were achieved and there is not a standard test method. Several of those products are used in execution of repairs and upgrades of structures and, often, its manufacturers gua- rantee it’s eflficiency, and, in the moment of use, their performance are not very satisfactory. The experimental program developed evaluated the performance of several commercially avali- able adhesives, in structural repairs using concrete cast in siiu, through the slant shear test of prism reconstituted with diagonal joint, taking into account the characteristics of old and new concrete, and the way of preparation of the interface surfaces. The results show that some materiais used in repair do not have the expected effect or are even harmful to the bond strength. The prisms were repaired with concrete similar to the original and mortar with addition of silica fume. In both cases, the bond coats of epoxy mortar and common mortar presented eftective contributions for the increase of the bond. The common mortar, for being of a conventional and more economic treatment than the other commercially avaliable adhesives, showed efficient results relating to bond and presented as additional ad- vantage the restoration of the alkalinity in the affected area.
