| Abstract: | São apresentados os resultados obtidos em pesquisa "cega" realizada na área de São Felipe (BA), num total de 99 pacientes, sendo 50 com MG reagente e 49 com MG não reagente. O autor aponta o acometimento dos reflexos profundos como o achado mais freqüente entre os pacientes com MG reagente destacando que, entre os 20 pacientes com abolição de um ou mais reflexos profundos em 18 a reação de fixação de complemento para o tripanosoma era positiva no sangue e conclui pela existência de uma polineurite chagásica. |
| Abstract: | The results of a research realized in a small community in the countryside of the state of Bahia, Brazil, where there is high frequency of infection by Trypanosoma cruzi. are reported. By evaluation the neurological clnical examination of 99 individuals it was observed that the most frequent finding on those 50 patients with positive sorology there was a diminution of deep reflexes. Additionally, it was found that among the 20 patients in whom more than one altered deep reflex was present, in 18 cases there were concomitant sorological evidence of Chagas disease. |
